NUML Hosts China-Pakistan Sports Carnival to Celebrate Asian Winter Games 2025

Islamabad: China-Pakistan Sports Carnival, organized by China Media Group (CMG) in collaboration with the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) and the Chinese Embassy, successfully fostered people-to-people ties through sports. The event, held to commemorate the ongoing Asian Winter Games 2025 in Harbin, highlighted the importance of youth engagement in athletics and strengthened bilateral cooperation in sports.

Dignitaries and officials at the event emphasized the role of sports in building international friendships. NUML Rector Maj Gen (R) Shahid Mahmood Kayani praised Chinese students learning Urdu as cultural ambassadors of Pakistan, while Chinese Embassy Cultural Attaché Mr. Chen Peng reaffirmed that sports transcend language barriers, uniting people and nations. He also welcomed President Asif Ali Zardari’s participation in the Winter Games, calling it a symbol of growing ties.

Director CMG, Ms. Musarrat, an alumna of NUML, highlighted the significance of President Zardari’s presence at the opening ceremony, considering it a testament to the enduring China-Pakistan friendship. She also emphasized NUML’s contribution to fostering cultural and academic exchanges between the two countries through sports and language.

The event concluded with the distribution of prizes and certificates to winners and participants, marking a successful celebration of sportsmanship and camaraderie. The China-Pakistan Sports Carnival stood as a reflection of the shared commitment to strengthening ties through youth engagement and athletic cooperation.
