Pak-Turkiye Counterterrorism Cooperation Strengthened Through Joint Military Exercises

CHERAT: The closing ceremony of the Pak-Turkiye Joint Exercise Ataturk-XIII in the counterterrorism domain was held at Cherat, Pakistan, marking the successful conclusion of two weeks of intensive military exercises and joint training between the armies of Pakistan and the Republic of Turkiye.

The exercise, which commenced on February 10, 2025, saw the participation of two combat teams from the Special Services Group (SSG) of the Pakistan Army and 36 personnel from the Special Forces of the Republic of Turkiye.

Commander 11 Corps attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest, while Brigadier General Ahmet Asik from the Republic of Turkiye was also present. The participating troops demonstrated exceptional professional skills and operational excellence throughout the exercise.

The joint drills focused on enhancing counterterrorism cooperation through military exercises and joint training, improving interoperability, and reinforcing the historic military ties between the two nations. Officials stated that the exercise provided valuable experience and mutual learning opportunities for both forces.

The Pak-Turkiye Ataturk series of exercises remains a cornerstone of the strong defense partnership between the two countries, reaffirming their commitment to regional security and counterterrorism cooperation.
