TASHKENT: The Chairperson of the Senate of the Republic of Uzbekistan, H.E. Tanzila Narbaeva, held an official meeting with the Chairman of the Senate of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, H.E. Yusuf Raza Gilani, in the capital city of Tashkent.
During the meeting, both dignitaries reaffirmed the strong and growing ties of friendship and brotherhood between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, rooted in mutual respect, spiritual closeness, and a shared historical heritage.
The two sides held comprehensive discussions on enhancing cooperation in several strategic sectors, including trade and economic relations, pharmaceuticals, the agro-industrial complex, agricultural machinery manufacturing, geology, and other areas of mutual interest.
Special attention was given to strengthening inter-parliamentary dialogue, expanding collaboration within the framework of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, and promoting the activities of friendship groups between the two nations.
The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement to jointly develop and implement programmatic documents aimed at systematically deepening the bilateral partnership.
Both countries expressed their commitment to continue working together toward peace, sustainable development, and shared prosperity.
