Islamabad: Senate Chairman Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has emphasized the importance of enhancing inter-parliamentary cooperation between Pakistan and Australia during a meeting with Australian High Commissioner Neil Hakins in Islamabad. Gilani highlighted the strong value Pakistan places on its relations with Australia and expressed a desire to further strengthen these ties.
Gilani underscored Pakistan’s significant sacrifices in the war against terror and its humanitarian efforts, particularly the support provided to hundreds of thousands of Afghan refugees. He also emphasized Pakistan’s proactive role in combating climate change, showcasing the country’s ongoing initiatives and achievements in this critical area.
The Australian High Commissioner commended Pakistan for its unwavering commitment and efforts in the fight against terrorism and in addressing climate change.
