Islamabad : Pakistan and China recently signed 23 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to enhance cooperation across multiple sectors such as industry, energy, agriculture, and infrastructure. This signing followed comprehensive talks between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his Chinese counterpart Li Qiang in Beijing, underscoring the strength of their Strategic Cooperative Partnership. The agreements highlight mutual trust and strategic alignment between the two nations, Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch told the media at her weekly press briefing.
The discussions reaffirmed their commitment to the high-quality development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a flagship project that remains central to their collaboration. Both countries vowed to protect CPEC from any potential threats and ensure the safety of Chinese personnel working in Pakistan. During a Business Forum in Shenzhen, he encouraged Chinese companies to invest and develop joint ventures in sectors like green energy, textiles, and manufacturing. In a pre-visit interview, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized his intention to secure significant investments from Chinese business leaders.
