Islamabad:Ambreen Jan, Secretary Information and Broadcasting, and, Iqbal Hussain Khan Bangladesh’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, held a productive meeting on Monday to explore avenues for strengthening media cooperation and fostering people-to-people connections between the two countries. The discussions, held at the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, centered on leveraging shared historical and cultural ties to deepen mutual understanding.

Ambreen Jan highlighted the longstanding diplomatic and cultural relationship between Pakistan and Bangladesh, emphasizing the need to enhance collaboration between state media organizations such as Pakistan Television Corporation, Associated Press of Pakistan, and Radio Pakistan with their Bangladeshi counterparts. She proposed initiatives like joint productions and a journalist exchange program to promote cross-border learning and understanding.
High Commissioner Iqbal Hussain Khan praised Pakistan’s efforts to promote bilateral cooperation and described the two nations as cultural and historical brothers. He stressed that joint initiatives, such as organizing film festivals, photographic exhibitions, and expanding the presence of Pakistani media on Bangladeshi cable networks, could help bring the people of both countries closer.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening ties through collaborative media projects and cultural exchanges, recognizing the role of media as a bridge to strengthen bilateral relations. The meeting concluded with a shared vision of fostering greater connectivity between Pakistan and Bangladesh through dynamic and people-centric initiatives.
