Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Partnership Remains Rock Solid: Attaullah Tarar
Beijing : Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to China has taken Pakistan-China relations to “unprecedented heights,” Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar said on Thursday, describing the trip as highly significant for advancing the next phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Speaking to the media after the opening session of the 2nd Pakistan-China B2B Investment Conference in Beijing, the minister said the government is prioritizing CPEC 2.0, which focuses on business-to-business partnerships, industrial development, enhanced regional connectivity, and the reconstruction of the Karakoram Highway (KKH).
He highlighted emerging opportunities in the IT and mining sectors and stressed the role of artificial intelligence in driving Pakistan’s growth. Tarar said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif holds great respect for Chinese President Xi Jinping, calling him a role model, and noted that meetings with the Chinese leadership during the visit were warm and cordial.
“The world has witnessed that the Pakistan-China all-weather strategic partnership remains rock solid. We take pride in being called iron brothers, a bond that truly inspires our people,” he remarked.
The minister also underscored the importance of youth exchanges under CPEC 2.0, inviting Chinese social media influencers to visit Pakistan and announcing that a Pakistani youth delegation would soon travel to China. He pledged stronger media cooperation to boost cultural and people-to-people linkages.
On trade, Tarar said both markets are increasingly open, with Pakistani manufacturers seeking access to China and Chinese businesses exploring opportunities in Pakistan. “With joint ventures, investments, and B2B engagement, we can elevate our cooperation to new levels,” he concluded .
