Islamabad: Pakistan on Monday extended heartfelt condolences to China over the tragic loss of lives caused by a devastating earthquake in Xizang.
The Foreign Office expressed solidarity with the people and government of China during this challenging time. Pakistan also conveyed its support for ongoing relief and rescue efforts in the affected region.
The Foreign Office emphasized that Pakistan’s thoughts are with those injured and the families of those still missing, wishing success for the rescue operations underway.
The earthquake of 7.1 magnitude in Xizang has resulted in significant loss of life and widespread damage, triggering an outpouring of international support for China’s relief efforts. Shaking was also felt in Nepal, India, Bhutan and Bangladesh.
