New Dehli: The Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has granted 94 visas to Indian pilgrims, allowing them to participate in the 316th Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Shiv Avtari Satguru Sant Shadaram Sahib at Shadani Darbar Hayat Pitafi in Sindh from January 5 to 15. The issuance of these visas underscores Pakistan’s commitment to facilitating religious tourism and strengthening people-to-people ties between the two nations.
Speaking on the occasion, Pakistan’s Charge d’Affaires Saad Ahmad Warraich extended his warm wishes to the pilgrims for a fulfilling and spiritually rewarding journey. He reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to preserving sacred religious sites and ensuring seamless arrangements for visiting devotees, emphasizing the importance of fostering interfaith harmony in the region.
The issuance of these visas falls under the Pakistan-India Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines of 1974, a bilateral agreement that enables pilgrims from both sides to visit significant religious sites across the border. The gesture reflects Pakistan’s consistent efforts to honor its commitments and promote cultural and religious exchanges, despite prevailing challenges in bilateral relations.
