Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a bilateral meeting with Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko on the sidelines of the SCO Council of Heads of Government (CHG) Meeting. The meeting marked a significant step in enhancing ties between Pakistan and Belarus.
During the talks, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Belarus on becoming a full member of the SCO and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to furthering the “Shanghai Spirit.” He highlighted the positive impact of recent high-level exchanges, including his meeting with President Aleksandr Lukashenko in July, which has bolstered bilateral relations in areas like trade, investment, and agricultural machinery.
Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s hospitality and praised the successful conduct of the SCO CHG Meeting. He assured that Belarus would work closely with Pakistan, as SCO CHG Chair, to advance the organization’s priorities and principles.
Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of their bilateral relationship and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in all spheres of mutual interest, particularly in trade and joint production initiatives.
