Pakistan, Malaysia Call for Immediate Ceasefire and Humanitarian Aid in Gaza

Jeddah: The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, held a bilateral meeting with Mr. Mohamad Haji Hasan, the Foreign Minister of Malaysia, on the sidelines of the 21st Extraordinary Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers today. The meeting underscored a strong sense of solidarity between the two countries and reflected their shared deep concern over the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Both sides reaffirmed their unwavering support for the people of Palestine and voiced grave concern over the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Gaza. The two foreign ministers emphasized the urgent need for unhindered humanitarian access to deliver critical aid, called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, and stressed the importance of concerted efforts to pave the way for a just and lasting peace in the region.

Foreign Minister Dar also recalled Malaysia’s successful hosting of the ASEAN Regional Forum ministerial meeting in Kuala Lumpur in July and expressed appreciation for his positive interactions with the Malaysian leadership on that occasion. Building upon this foundation, the two leaders reiterated their determination to further strengthen Pakistan-Malaysia relations through enhanced high-level exchanges, expansion of trade and economic ties, and the promotion of people-to-people contacts to foster deeper cultural and social linkages.

Pakistan and Malaysia enjoy longstanding and cordial relations, founded on mutual respect and close cooperation in regional and international forums. Both countries, as active members of the OIC, share similar perspectives on major global issues, particularly their consistent and resolute support for the Palestinian cause.
