Islamabad: Pakistan Navy Ships RASADGAR and AZMAT, as part of an overseas deployment to the Arabian Gulf, made official visits to Port Al Shuwaikh, Kuwait, while PMSS DASHT visited Port Umm Qasr, Iraq. The flotilla was led by Commodore Muhammad Umair, Commander of the 14th Destroyer Squadron.
The Pakistan Navy ships were warmly received upon arrival at the host ports by representatives from the Pakistan embassies and officials from the Kuwaiti and Iraqi navies. The Mission Commander, along with the commanding officers, engaged in meetings with the naval leadership of both countries. Discussions focused on strengthening Navy-to-Navy cooperation, improving maritime security, and addressing matters of mutual interest. The Commander also extended the best wishes of Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, to the people and naval forces of Kuwait and Iraq.
Both Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Maritime Security Agency ships conducted Passage Exercises with their Kuwaiti and Iraqi counterparts. These joint exercises focused on enhancing interoperability and fostering mutual learning through coordinated maritime operations, strengthening the collaborative efforts between the navies.
The successful visits of the PN flotilla to Kuwait and Iraq are expected to significantly strengthen diplomatic and defense ties between Pakistan and these nations. These engagements serve as a key step in reinforcing maritime cooperation and advancing strategic partnerships in the region.
