Pakistan Rejects Indian Claims on “Operation Sindoor, it was fabricated and proactive : Foreign Office
Islamabad : Pakistan has strongly rejected the “baseless assertions and provocative claims” made by Indian leaders during a recent debate in the Lok Sabha on the so-called “Operation Sindoor”, terming them as an attempt to distort facts, justify aggression, and glorify conflict for domestic political gains.
Responding to media queries, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Indian narrative surrounding “Operation Sindoor” lacks credibility and is replete with fabrications. “Pakistan categorically rejects the baseless assertions and provocative claims made by the Indian leaders during the Lok Sabha debate,” the spokesperson stated.
The statement emphasized that India had launched strikes on Pakistan without any verifiable evidence or credible investigation into the Pahalgam Attack. “India’s targeting of alleged terrorist infrastructure resulted in the martyrdom of innocent men, women, and children during the night of 6 and 7 May 2025,” it read. The spokesperson also highlighted that India failed to achieve any of its strategic objectives, while Pakistan successfully neutralised Indian military targets, including fighter jets.
The statement further criticized India for ignoring the offer of a transparent and independent investigation extended by the Prime Minister of Pakistan in the immediate aftermath of the Pahalgam incident. “Instead, India chose the path of belligerence, acting as judge, jury, and executioner at the same time,” the spokesperson remarked, adding that the timing of the alleged killing of the Pahalgam attackers—just ahead of the Lok Sabha debate—raises serious questions.
The Ministry also rejected Indian Home Minister’s narrative regarding a so-called “Operation Mahadev”, calling it factually flawed and politically motivated. “The account given by the Indian Home Minister is replete with fabrications, leading to serious questions about its credibility,” the spokesperson said.
Pakistan expressed serious concern over Indian leaders’ claims of establishing a “new normal” in bilateral relations, asserting that the only acceptable framework is one grounded in respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity, and adherence to the UN Charter. “We shall forcefully counter any future aggression,” the statement warned.
Addressing allegations of “nuclear blackmail”, Pakistan rejected the term as a “misleading and self-serving construct” used to shift blame and justify Indian escalatory behavior. “Pakistan deterred India through its conventional capabilities, guided by discipline and restraint,” the spokesperson affirmed.
The Foreign Office also took strong exception to India’s decision to hold the Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance, terming it a violation of international obligations. “India must immediately fulfil its Treaty obligations. Unilateral and illegal moves undermine regional cooperation,” it stated.
Concluding the statement, Pakistan reiterated its commitment to peace and dialogue. “India’s continued reliance on disinformation, jingoism, and chest-thumping risks destabilising South Asia. Pakistan remains committed to regional stability and resolution of all outstanding issues, including the core dispute of Jammu and Kashmir, through meaningful dialogue,” the statement concluded.
