Pakistan, Russia discuss expanding cooperation in science, technology, & education
Islamabad :Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar today held talks with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk, focusing on strengthening bilateral ties. The meeting emphasized the growing cooperation between Pakistan and Russia over the past two decades.
Both sides discussed key areas of collaboration, including trade, energy, industry, science, and education. They agreed to enhance dialogue and cooperation in these sectors to deepen ties between the two nations.
Deputy Prime Minister Dar highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to bolstering political, economic, and defence relations with Russia. He reiterated Pakistan’s interest in fostering stronger connections in these critical areas.
The leaders also pledged to coordinate their efforts in international forums, particularly the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Deputy Prime Minister Dar expressed gratitude for Russia’s support in Pakistan’s bid for BRICS membership.
The visit of Deputy Prime Minister Overchuk aligns with the shared vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Vladimir Putin to transform the bilateral relationship into a strong economic partnership.
