Riyadh : Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to activate a Joint Task Force to enhance collaboration in the public security domain. The understanding was reached during a meeting in Riyadh between Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Saudi Chief of Public Security Lieutenant General Mohammed Al Bassami. Both sides emphasized the importance of exchanging expertise and strengthening cooperation, particularly in police training.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi highlighted Pakistan’s efforts to enhance security, including the creation of a Special Protection Unit dedicated to safeguarding diplomats. He expressed interest in learning from Saudi Arabia’s advanced systems, which leverage artificial intelligence to control crimes and reduce traffic accidents effectively.
As part of his visit, Naqvi toured the cutting-edge Public Security Headquarters and the Safe City Center in Saudi Arabia. The activation of the Joint Task Force is expected to foster deeper collaboration between the two nations, allowing them to benefit from each other’s expertise and technological advancements in public security.
