Pakistani Envoy in New York Engages Stakeholders to Boost Textile Exports

New York: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, has stepped up efforts to boost the country’s textile exports to the American market, undertaking a three-day visit to New York alongside Mohammad Hanif Channa, Minister for Trade and Investment. The visit was part of Pakistan’s broader strategy to deepen economic engagement with the United States and secure a stronger foothold for Pakistani products in the world’s largest consumer market.

During the visit, the Ambassador held a series of meetings with senior leadership of Pakistani textile manufacturers, key commercial facilitators, Trade Exhibitor USA, importers, and sourcing agents active in the home textile and apparel sectors.

The discussions centered on practical strategies to expand Pakistan’s exports to the United States. In view of global trade realignments and shifting tariffs affecting other suppliers, Ambassador Sheikh underscored the need for Pakistan to swiftly capitalize on emerging opportunities and translate them into sustainable commercial gains for the textile sector.

He assured exporters of the full backing of Pakistan’s Trade and Commercial Wing in Washington D.C. and the Consulate General in New York. The Ambassador further encouraged exporters to diversify into e-commerce and direct-to-consumer channels, pointing to the growing success of Pakistani ventures in the U.S. digital retail space.
