Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday expressed deep sorrow over the devastating earthquake that struck China’s Xizang region, causing significant loss of life and property.
In a message of condolence, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his heartfelt sympathies to President Xi Jinping and the people of China, stating, “The entire Pakistani nation is deeply saddened by the tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and all those affected. Pakistan stands in solidarity with the people of China during this difficult time.”
President Zardari echoed similar sentiments, expressing solidarity with the “Chinese brothers and sisters” and offering prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured. Both leaders reassured China of Pakistan’s unwavering support, emphasizing the strong bond between the two nations in times of sorrow.
Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar also expressed profound grief over the devastating earthquake in China’s Tibet Autonomous Region, offering heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families. In a post on X, he conveyed Pakistan’s solidarity with the Chinese people, praying for strength and comfort for those affected and reiterating Pakistan’s support during this tragic time.
“We stand in solidarity with the people of China and offer our sincerest condolences,” the deputy PM added.
