Islamabad : Ambassador Sharifzoda Yusuf Toir of Tajikistan made a courtesy call on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad. The Prime Minister welcomed the Ambassador and wished him success during his tenure in Pakistan. Reflecting on his recent visit to Dushanbe, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality and praised the fruitful discussions with President Emomali Rahmon.
Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the importance of timely implementation of the MoUs and agreements signed during his visit to Tajikistan, emphasizing that this would further strengthen bilateral relations. He also reiterated his invitation to President Rahmon for an official visit to Pakistan and anticipated Tajikistan’s participation in the SCO Council of Heads of Government meeting in Islamabad in October.
The Tajik Ambassador presented several proposals to enhance cooperation between the two countries in fields such as education, agriculture, and defense, and discussed improving connectivity through land and air routes. The Prime Minister instructed relevant Ministries to engage with the Ambassador for detailed discussions on these proposals, including the regional connectivity project CASA-1000.
Ambassador Sharifzoda conveyed greetings from President Rahmon and expressed Tajikistan’s commitment to deepening its relationship with Pakistan. The Prime Minister appreciated the Ambassador’s visit and reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to fostering strong bilateral ties.
