PM Shehbaz Assures Qatar of Pakistan’s Full Support After Israeli Attack on Doha

Doha:  Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday assured the Qatari leadership of Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity in the face of Israel’s attack on Doha, terming it an “unjustified provocation” and a “flagrant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty.”

During a meeting with Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the prime minister strongly condemned the September 9 Israeli strike on the Qatari capital, which claimed several innocent lives.
Shehbaz Sharif extended Pakistan’s deepest sympathies over the loss of precious lives and prayed for the swift recovery of the injured.
He underscored that Pakistan and its people stood shoulder to shoulder with the Amir, the Royal Family, and the people of Qatar in this difficult time.

During the meeting, the prime minister highlighted that Israel’s brazen aggression not only endangered regional stability but also constituted a serious breach of international law. He said the Muslim Ummah must show unity against Israeli provocations, while appreciating Qatar’s constructive and mediatory role in promoting peace in Gaza.

Shehbaz informed the Qatari leadership that Pakistan had requested an emergency session of the UN Security Council to deliberate on the latest escalation in the Middle East. He also welcomed Qatar’s decision to host an Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit on September 15, assuring Islamabad’s willingness to co-sponsor and co-convene the forum under the umbrella of the OIC.

The prime minister recalled Qatar’s steadfast support to Pakistan during its earlier standoff with India, reaffirming the historic brotherly ties between the two nations. Both leaders agreed to maintain close coordination in advancing peace, safeguarding international law, and supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

Amir Sheikh Tamim thanked Shehbaz Sharif for his visit and his gesture of solidarity, noting that the trip reflected the enduring fraternal bonds between Pakistan and Qatar.
