Astana: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday joined world leaders at the 24th summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which commenced in the capital city of Kazakhstan. The summit is being held at the Independence Palace.
The event is attended by leaders from Pakistan, China, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkiye, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, India, and others. Upon his arrival, Prime Minister Shehbaz was warmly received by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and both leaders shook hands.
The prime minister will present Pakistan’s perspectives on key regional and global issues. The summit is titled “Strengthening Multilateral Dialogue – Striving Towards a Sustainable Peace and Prosperity.”
This theme underscores the collaborative efforts for peace and prosperity in the region. Leaders will discuss vital regional and global issues to strengthen multilateral dialogue.
