PM Shehbaz departs for Qatar to express solidarity after Israeli airstrikes

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday left for Doha on a daylong solidarity visit to stand with the leadership and people of Qatar in the wake of Israeli airstrikes on residential areas of the Qatari capital. The visit comes at a time of heightened regional tensions, with Pakistan reaffirming its support for Qatar’s sovereignty and security. The premier’s message of unity underscores Islamabad’s rejection of Israeli aggression and its call for peace in the Middle East.

Accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi, the prime minister will meet Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

During the meeting, he will convey Pakistan’s solidarity with the Qatari leadership and people, emphasizing that the two countries share historic fraternal ties rooted in faith and values. Both sides will also hold consultations on Israel’s unwarranted attacks across the region and ways to strengthen efforts for peace and stability.

The visit highlights Pakistan’s unwavering support for Qatar during testing times and its commitment to collective regional security.
