Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed the Ministry of Commerce to present a detailed plan to boost Pakistan-Azerbaijan trade volume to 2 billion dollars. Chairing a review meeting in Islamabad, he stressed the immediate implementation of signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) and agreements.
The Prime Minister formed a high-level committee under Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar to oversee agreements in the energy and infrastructure sectors. He also ordered the timely completion of preparations for the Azerbaijani President’s expected visit next month.
Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the deep-rooted ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, urging the appointment of trade officers in key markets to unlock trade potential. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing economic and investment cooperation with Azerbaijan and Central Asian states.
