PM Shehbaz Meets President Erdogan, Vows to Strengthen Strategic Partnership

Baku: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday met with President of the Republic of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on the sidelines of the Victory Day Parade and discussed matters of mutual interest, including bilateral cooperation and regional developments.

Chief of the Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, was also present during the meeting.

The two leaders reviewed the entire spectrum of Pakistan-Türkiye relations and reaffirmed their resolve to further strengthen cooperation across multiple domains. Prime Minister Shehbaz extended warm felicitations to President Erdogan and the people of Türkiye on the occasion of Republic Day and lauded the spirited celebrations of Pakistan-Türkiye Friendship Week, describing them as a reflection of the deep-rooted and time-tested bond between the two brotherly nations.

The prime minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to transforming its fraternal relations with Türkiye into a broad-based strategic partnership encompassing political, defence, economic, trade, investment, and people-to-people linkages. In this context, it was agreed that a ministerial delegation from Türkiye would soon visit Pakistan to explore new avenues of collaboration.

Both leaders also reaffirmed their shared desire to continue close coordination on regional and international issues and to work jointly for peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and the wider Muslim world.
