PM Shehbaz Sharif to Visit Malaysia from October 5–7 at Anwar Ibrahim’s Invitation

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will embark on an official visit to Malaysia from October 5 to 7, 2025, at the invitation of his Malaysian counterpart, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, the Foreign Office announced on Saturday.

The Prime Minister will be accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Federal Ministers, and senior government officials. The visit aims to deepen the longstanding strategic partnership between Pakistan and Malaysia, anchored in mutual respect, shared interests, and robust cooperation across diverse sectors.

During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, focusing on advancing collaboration in key areas including trade, IT and telecommunication, the Halal industry, investment, education, energy, infrastructure, and the digital economy. The two leaders will also exchange views on regional and global developments, reaffirming their shared commitment to peace, stability, and sustainable growth.

Both sides are expected to sign multiple agreements and MoUs, expanding cooperation in existing and emerging sectors.

According to the Foreign Office, the visit highlights Pakistan’s continued resolve to strengthen its partnership with Malaysia, while building on the solid foundations of friendship and mutual cooperation. It is also seen as a reaffirmation of the importance both countries attach to enhancing people-to-people ties and fostering economic prosperity in the region.
