BAKU: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited the newly constructed Victory Monument in Baku on Monday to pay homage to the heroes and martyrs of the 44-day Nagorno-Karabakh war. The conflict, which took place in 2020, was pivotal in restoring Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity. During his visit, the Prime Minister laid a floral wreath at the monument, honoring the sacrifices of Azerbaijan’s national heroes.
The Victory Monument stands as a testament to the bravery and resilience displayed during the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. PM Shehbaz Sharif described the monument as a symbol of courage, national pride, and unwavering determination. He praised the Azerbaijani people for their extraordinary valor and unity during the 44-day war, emphasizing the historic significance of their victory.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with Azerbaijan, stating that Pakistan will always stand by its brotherly nation. He commended Azerbaijan’s efforts to promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the region. The visit underscored Pakistan’s unwavering support for Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Accompanying the Prime Minister were key officials, including Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan, and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, among others. The high-level delegation’s presence highlighted the deep Pakistan-Azerbaijan relations, further strengthening the bond between the two nations.
