Islamabad: Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim was accorded a warm and formal welcome at the Prime Minister’s House on Thursday. Upon his arrival, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif personally received him at the main entrance. The national anthems of Pakistan and Malaysia were played, and a contingent of the Armed Forces of Pakistan presented a guard of honour, which the visiting Prime Minister inspected.
After the ceremonial proceedings, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif introduced members of his cabinet to the Malaysian Prime Minister, who in turn introduced his delegation to the Pakistani premier. The exchange of introductions underscored the cordial relations between the two countries.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim planted a sapling in the grounds of the Prime Minister’s House, marking his visit to Pakistan and reinforcing the spirit of cooperation and goodwill between the two nations.
