Portuguese Guitar Maestro Pedro Jóia to Perform in Pakistan
Islamabad: Renowned Portuguese classical guitarist and composer Pedro Jóia will be visiting Pakistan from May 23rd to 28th, 2025, at the invitation of the Embassy of Portugal in Islamabad. His visit aims to strengthen cultural ties between Portugal and Pakistan through the universal language of music.
During his stay, Jóia is scheduled to perform at the 2025 International Jazz Festival, with concerts lined up at the Silk Road Culture Centre in Islamabad on May 23rd and the Alhamra Art Center in Lahore on May 25th. These events promise to bring a rich fusion of jazz and classical guitar to Pakistani audiences.
Beyond his main performances, Jóia will participate in various cultural activities, including special recitals, jam sessions, masterclasses, and media engagements in both cities. These interactions are designed to inspire young musicians and promote musical exchange between the two countries.
The visit also holds symbolic significance, coinciding with the International Day of the Portuguese Language and Cultures of the CPLP. It marks the beginning of Portugal’s National Day celebrations in Pakistan, highlighting a shared commitment to cultural diplomacy and mutual appreciation.
