Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari will pay an official visit to China from September 12 to 21, at the invitation of the Chinese government, the Foreign Office announced on Thursday. The 10-day visit comes as Islamabad and Beijing seek to inject fresh momentum into their longstanding economic, trade and strategic cooperation. The president’s engagements are expected to spotlight the future direction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and broader connectivity initiatives.
During the trip, President Zardari will visit Chengdu, Shanghai and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, where he will hold meetings with provincial leadership. Discussions will cover bilateral relations, economic and trade ties, and collaboration at multilateral fora.
