Islamabad :President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), particularly in the areas of economy, trade, defence, culture, education, and people-to-people exchanges. He made these remarks at a reception hosted by the Saudi Embassy to commemorate the 94th National Day of Saudi Arabia.
The event was attended by a host of prominent figures, including provincial governors, the Chief Minister of Punjab, federal ministers, diplomats, and civil and military officials. In his address, President Zardari extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and the people of Saudi Arabia.
President Zardari underscored the strong brotherly ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, noting their long-standing cooperation in multiple fields. He commended Saudi Arabia’s unwavering support for Pakistan during challenging times and emphasized the mutual assistance both nations have provided each other over the years.
Praising the leadership of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, President Zardari acknowledged the bold reforms and visionary initiatives that have contributed to Saudi Arabia’s rapid development. He expressed his best wishes for the Kingdom’s continued success on its path of progress and prosperity.
President Zardari expressed his gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s continued support, particularly in hosting nearly 2.7 million Pakistani expatriates who contribute to the Kingdom’s growth. He voiced his optimism that Pakistan-Saudi relations would grow even stronger, working together for the unity of the Muslim Ummah and the promotion of regional peace and stability.
