Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif departed for Egypt on Wednesday for a three-day official visit to attend the 11th Developing Countries (D-8) Summit in Cairo, which will focus on “Investing in Youth and Supporting SMEs: Shaping Tomorrow’s Economy.” During his address, the Prime Minister will highlight Pakistan’s dedication to the D-8’s core principles, emphasizing the need for partnerships that foster mutual development, particularly in areas such as agriculture, food security, and tourism. He will also showcase the Pakistani government’s efforts to empower youth and support their economic development.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to participate in a Special Session of the D-8 on the Humanitarian Crisis and Reconstruction Challenges in Gaza and Lebanon. He will address the crisis caused by Israeli aggression in the Middle East and reaffirm Pakistan’s stance on Palestine, advocating for peace in the region.
The Prime Minister will also engage in bilateral discussions with other leaders attending the summit, strengthening ties and exploring further avenues of cooperation. Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi will accompany the Prime Minister on this significant diplomatic visit.
The summit provides a platform for the Prime Minister to advocate for the importance of investing in youth and SMEs to foster economic growth through employment, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
