Beijing: The University of Sargodha in Pakistan and several leading Chinese firms have signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to advance Radiation Oncology Technology for Cancer Treatment and promote technological advancement. The signing ceremony took place on Thursday in Beijing, highlighting the collaborative efforts between Pakistan and China in the field of medical and technological research.
One significant MoU was signed between the University of Sargodha and Zhong Lu Dong (Shandong) Agricultural Science & Technology Development Co., Ltd. This agreement aims to establish a Cancer Research Center in Pakistan, dedicated to exploring pathways that enhance services to humanity. Both sides committed to promoting medical education and research activities as part of the scientific revolution in Pakistan.
Qaisar Abbas, Vice Chancellor of the University of Sargodha, emphasized the institution’s extensive reach, noting that it currently enrolls nearly 24,000 students in various degree programs across eight faculties, four constituent colleges, four institutes, one school, and 40 departments. Additionally, approximately 30,000 students are studying in the university’s 204 affiliated colleges, making it one of the largest educational setups in Pakistan.
Another notable MoU was signed between the University of Sargodha and Supper Accuracy Science & Technology Co., Ltd. This agreement focuses on joint research projects, publications, and participation in international conferences, fostering a collaborative academic environment.
The MoU with Supper Accuracy Science & Technology Co., Ltd also outlines the exchange of faculty members for research, teaching, and professional development. Collaborative projects will prioritize sustainable agriculture practices and biodiversity research, further enhancing agricultural technology.
The agreements also call for the development and implementation of training programs, workshops, and seminars to promote the use of advanced agricultural technologies. These initiatives aim to improve plantation practices and ensure sustainable agricultural development.
Dr. Muhammad Shahbaz, President of the China Pakistan Medical Association, highlighted the significance of these collaborations, noting that the Belt and Road Initiative has facilitated increased international cooperation and exchanges. He emphasized that such partnerships are vital for advancing medical and technological research in Pakistan.
