Shaza Fatima Witnesses Major IT Agreements at Pakistan-China B2B Conference in Beijing

Beijing:  Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, witnessed the signing of a series of landmark Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) during the second Pakistan-China B2B Conference held in China, marking a major step forward in digital cooperation, emerging technologies, and investment promotion between the two countries.

The agreements covered a wide range of sectors, including government-to-government (G2G) and government-to-business (G2B) collaborations.

Under a G2G framework, the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication (MoITT) and China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) signed an MoU on cooperation in emerging technologies.

In G2B partnerships, key MoUs were inked between:

  • Huawei Technologies and NTC Pakistan for collaboration in fiberization and government connectivity.
  • Alibaba International Digital Commerce and Ignite for capacity building and knowledge sharing.
  • MoITT and Pak-China Investment Company Limited (PCICL) to enhance digital investment avenues.
  • MoITT and ZTE for youth training and skill development.
  • MoITT and China Submarine Cable Construction Company Limited (CSCC) for strengthening undersea cable infrastructure.
  • MoITT and Gooudong Group to deepen digital cooperation.
  • Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) and Shanghai Lingang International Data Industry Institute (SHLID) for joint initiatives in the data industry.

A milestone agreement was also signed between ZTE and SKY47 to establish state-of-the-art data centers in Pakistan, a project considered a breakthrough for the country’s digital infrastructure.
