SHENZHEN: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Party Secretary Meng Fanli in Shenzhen, highlighting the deep-rooted ties between Pakistan and China, characterized by frequent leadership engagement, people-to-people contacts, and cultural exchanges. He praised the economic growth and innovative spirit of Guangdong province, and termed Shenzhen a crucial trade gateway for China’s business links with Pakistan.
Reaffirming the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership, both leaders agreed to explore increased cooperation between Pakistan and Guangdong, particularly under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). They emphasized the importance of robust linkages between scientists, innovators, and businessmen to enhance partnerships in science, technology, innovation, trade, and economic cooperation.
The upcoming Pakistan-China Business Conference was identified as a key opportunity to advance these goals. Additionally, Prime Minister Shehbaz attended a banquet hosted by Party Secretary Meng, further strengthening the diplomatic and economic ties between the two regions.
