Islamabad: Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq met with the Turkish Ambassador Dr. Irfan Neziroglu at the Parliament House. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on bilateral relations, parliamentary cooperation, and regional issues.
On this occasion, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq stated that Pakistan and Turkey are like two bodies with one soul. He added that the two countries are bound by unbreakable ties of religion, brotherhood, history, and culture, and the people of Pakistan hold deep affection for Turkey.
The Speaker paid tribute to the sacrifices of the Turkish people for safeguarding democracy and noted that both brotherly nations share common stances on regional and global issues. He further emphasized that Pakistan and Turkey have always supported each other’s positions on international and regional forums.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq stressed the importance of enhancing parliamentary-level contacts between the parliaments of both countries, which would further strengthen bilateral relations. He highlighted that the Pakistan-Turkey Parliamentary Friendship Group in the National Assembly is playing an active role in promoting connections between the two parliaments.
Turkish Ambassador Dr. Irfan Neziroglu appreciated the sentiments expressed by the Speaker of the National Assembly, stating that Turkey values its fraternal relations with Pakistan. He remarked that the people of Turkey and Pakistan share a deep bond of love, respect, and brotherhood.
The Turkish Ambassador further noted that parliamentary diplomacy could play a pivotal role in bringing the two brotherly nations closer. At the conclusion of the meeting, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen bilateral ties.
