Islamabad : The Energy Minister of Tajikistan, Daler Jumma, called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the PM House on Friday to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Tajikistan. The meeting focused on key sectors such as communication, energy, education, and agriculture, with an emphasis on improving land-based connectivity. Regional initiatives, including CASA-1000, were also highlighted as crucial projects for fostering integration and mutual growth.
Prime Minister Sharif welcomed Daler Jumma to Pakistan and expressed satisfaction with the progress made during the Pakistan-Tajikistan Joint Commission. He reiterated the importance of timely implementation of memorandums of understanding (MOUs) and agreements, stating that they would further deepen economic and diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Recalling his previous meetings with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, including in Riyadh and Baku, the Prime Minister expressed optimism about strengthening ties at the highest levels. He conveyed his best wishes to President Rahmon and extended an invitation for a state visit to Pakistan, hoping it would pave the way for further collaboration.
Minister Daler Jumma thanked Prime Minister Sharif for the warm hospitality and emphasized the significance of enhancing cooperation across multiple sectors. His participation in the Joint Commission reflected Tajikistan’s commitment to advancing shared regional objectives, including energy and connectivity projects that benefit both nations.
The meeting was attended by key Pakistani ministers and officials, underscoring the importance Islamabad attaches to its partnership with Dushanbe. By focusing on the implementation of agreements and exploring new opportunities for collaboration, Pakistan and Tajikistan aim to foster a strategic partnership that contributes to regional peace and development.
