Tashkent: A high-level delegation from Pakistan under the leadership of Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani is participating in the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The delegation is representing Pakistan’s commitment to global parliamentary engagement and international dialogue.

On the opening day of the assembly, three key positions were secured by members of the Pakistani delegation from the Asia-Pacific Geopolitical Group. Senator Farooq H. Naek, Senator Agha Shahzaib Durrani, and Barrister Aqeel Malik, MNA, achieved significant milestones by being elected to committees focused on democratic governance, youth representation, and counter-terrorism efforts, respectively.
The event also underscored the strength of the Uzbek Pakistan relationship. Delegates from both nations engaged in productive discussions, reflecting mutual interests in regional development and stability.
