ISLAMABAD : The Swedish Embassy celebrated the traditional Lucia Day on Friday, offering Islamabad a glimpse into Swedish culture. The event, centered on light, unity, and hope, brought together guests from diverse backgrounds to experience a cherished Nordic custom that symbolizes optimism during the year’s darkest period.
The evening’s highlight was the enchanting Lucia procession, featuring participants in white robes holding candles and singing traditional Swedish songs. The serene and luminous atmosphere reflected the essence of the celebration, creating a memorable experience for all attendees.
Ambassador Alexandra Berg von Linde, while addressing the gathering, lauded the hospitality of Pakistan and its rich cultural heritage. She emphasized the significance of cultural exchanges like Lucia Day in fostering mutual respect and strengthening ties between Sweden and Pakistan as the two nations mark 75 years of diplomatic relations.
