Islamabad: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb met with Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Mr. Khalil Hashmi, at the Finance Division. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Syed Tariq Fatemi, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, where discussions focused on deepening the Pakistan-China bilateral relationship.
Senator Aurangzeb highlighted Pakistan’s recent economic progress, noting the improved business and investor confidence. He stressed the importance of robust economic diplomacy to bolster partnerships and advance Pakistan’s growing economy. The Minister reiterated the government’s resolve to create opportunities that attract international investment and strengthen trade ties with strategic allies like China.
Ambassador Khalil Hashmi provided an update on initiatives aimed at furthering Pakistan-China relations. He shared details about high-level visits, agreements, and collaborative projects in areas such as trade, investment, and infrastructure. Ambassador Hashmi emphasized that such efforts were key to leveraging the opportunities presented by China’s Belt and Road Initiative, including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
