Young Creatives Invited to Join 2025 Youth for Humanitarian Disarmament Multimedia Contest
ISLAMABAD: The Convention on Cluster Munitions (CCM) has announced the launch of the 2025 Youth for Humanitarian Disarmament Multimedia Contest, calling on young creatives worldwide to use their artistic talents to promote global peace, security, and development.
Open to individuals aged 18 to 29, the contest invites submissions in three categories: photography, visual arts, and short films or animations of up to three minutes in length. Entries must reflect a vision for a world free from the threat of cluster munitions.
Belgium, a leading voice in the fight against cluster munitions, continues to play a central role in global disarmament efforts. In 2006, it became the first country to ban cluster munitions through national legislation and has since remained at the forefront of international negotiations and implementation of the CCM.
Participants are required to submit one original work, either personally or on behalf of an organization, ensuring respect for intellectual property rights and appropriate attribution. The deadline for submissions is June 16, 2025. Entries should be sent via email to info@ccmconvention.org, including the participant’s country of residence, any relevant affiliations, and social media handles.
The winning entrant will receive the unique opportunity to present their work in person to the States Parties to the Convention in Geneva, Switzerland, in September 2025.
This initiative highlights the vital role of youth in shaping a safer, more secure world and promoting humanitarian disarmament through the power of creative expression.
